“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”

                                                                          ― Fred Rogers

I’m Dr. Nathan Miles, a licensed psychologist in the Lexington, Kentucky area.

Life can be exhilarating, but it also brings challenges, both unexpected and anticipated. I see my role as a therapist as a fellow passenger on a brief leg of your life’s journey. I work to help you understand the lay of the land and offer support along the way, but it is ultimately your decision to choose the path that feels best for you and do the work to reach your desired destination. On our journey together, I aim to help you use the strengths you already have and develop new skills and strategies to make the changes you want in order to have a more satisfying life.

I strive to create an atmosphere of warmth where you can feel safe to explore all your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without fear of judgment or shame. I will work with you to identify treatment goals and create a plan for how we can work together to meet them. I believe in people’s ability to make meaningful changes, even in the midst of trying or seemingly hopeless circumstances.

It is important to me that we feel we can work well together. I will do my best to see your concerns from your perspective, considering factors such as age, race/ethnicity, gender, relationship status, sexual orientation, family background, religious beliefs, and cultural variables. I always strive to be honest and direct in my communication while maintaining a foundation of warmth and support. I would love to talk with you to determine if we could work together toward your goals.
